Thanks, Steve. The motor inductance is mh per phase, ohms resistance and are rated at 3 amps. The holding torque is 280 N cm which converts to about 396 oz in. I bought a 24v, 15 amp power supply specifically for this application, but could buy a different if there would be a significant performance boost.

312. Can't say for sure about the Lagun, but my Willis mill had to have a special cast yoke for ball screws when I retrofit a SWI SMX CNC package. The Acme screws/nuts are smaller in diameter. Also can't say if the BP screws are the same configuration even if the same table length applies. I'd think ground screws would be more accurate though ...

#1 I am thinking of replacing the Acme screws on my 20 + year old Enco 10" x 54" knee mill with ball leadscrews. Not doing a CNC conversion or anything like that just want to eliminate the backlash so I can climb mill. Slide the new ballscrew up behind the spindle head and install the five bolts that secure the ballnut to the ballnut housing. Leave these bolts loose at this time. Turn the ballscrew by hand untill it fully engages the thrust bearing. Install the required spacer and the collar nut on the motor end of the ballscrew.
